Beth Simoes: In Touch NYC Therapist Receives Leading Certification

01/14/2022

Patients suffering from painful or excessive swelling have an exciting new resource within the NYC area: Beth Simoes, chief physical therapist at In Touch NYC’s Upper East Side office.

Beth recently earned her certification in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), one of the most challenging PT certifications available to professionals.

This approach to physical therapy utilizes a variety of massage techniques focused on manipulating the lymphatic vessels of the body. Its goal is to move lymphatic fluid out of swollen areas of the body in order to relieve swelling and pain.

MLD has many applications where patients are suffering from swollen limbs and related discomfort. Some of these applications include the following:

  • Pregnancy
  • Pre- and post-surgical care
  • Post c-section support
  • Palliative care
  • Preventative care to support a healthy immune system
  • Post-traumatic swelling
  • Intracranial pressure
  • Stress relief
  • Plastic surgery
  • Mole removal

Beth Simoes brings 15 years of physical therapy experience to her MLD certification and patient treatments. Additional Pilates and pre- and post-natal certifications enhance her ability to deliver compassionate, attentive, tailored, and effective care for any patient need.

Patients interested in manual lymphatic drainage should request an appointment with Beth at In Touch NYC’s Upper East Side office. We accept a variety of insurance plans, including GHI and Aetna, as well as cash payments of $250 per appointment.

In Touch NYC is proud of Beth’s accomplishments. Her ability to deliver attentive and caring physical therapy embodies In Touch’s goal of helping patients get back on the path to health. Keep embracing the best in PT care, Beth!
